The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split is obliged to ensure the accessibility of its websites in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (NN 17/19) of 23 September 2019, which transposes Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies into national legislation. COMPLIANCE STATUS
The websites of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split are partially compliant with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies. The websites are partially compliant with the EN 301 549 V2.1.2 (2018-08) standard and the WCAG 2.1 Guidelines.
- Accessibility on the website https://www.medhrid.unist.hr/ is ensured by adding accessibility settings. These settings allow the website https://www.medhrid.unist.hr/ to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and the Accessibility Act. The accessibility menu can be activated by clicking the accessibility icon in the page header. After launching the accessibility menu, please wait a moment for the menu to fully load. Once fully loaded, you can choose between nine available options (increase text size (larger font), decrease text size (smaller font), grayscale, high color contrast, negative contrast, light background, underlined links, readable font (increasing font size to recommended dimensions), and resetting all selected options).

- The website is responsive and adapted for display on all devices.
- There is no automatic language switching of text on the site that could confuse users.
- For better readability and easier navigation, special attention has been paid to spacing between elements on the page and consistency of navigation, which can also be further adjusted through the Accessibility Menu.
- The user always knows where they are on the website.

INACCESSIBLE CONTENT
Exceptions from compliance with the Accessibility Act, according to the four general accessibility requirements – perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness – are reflected in the following parts of the content:
- some PDF files contained in publications were not fully created by exporting the source document from Microsoft Office Word with accessibility options selected, but by scanning printed documents, and therefore are not accessible because they are not properly prepared for screen readers;
- some Microsoft Office documents are published in a format that is not readable by screen readers;
- some images do not have an appropriate textual description (alt text);
- some links do not have appropriate descriptions and do not provide clear information about the content they lead to;
IMPROVING THE LEVEL OF ACCESSIBILITY
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split will implement corrective measures, to the greatest extent possible, to resolve issues related to inaccessible content on the website https://www.medhrid.unist.hr/
In the further development of the website https://www.medhrid.unist.hr/ , all other recommendations for improving accessibility will also be implemented, with the aim of raising the level of accessibility to the greatest extent possible.

The preparation of this Statement was based on a self-assessment carried out by staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, in cooperation with the website maintainers.
