Tonija Andrić, Associate Prof., investigates the influence of Venetian social patterns on the private lives of the population of the Venetian Stato da Mar in the 14th and 15th centuries, focusing on the transfer of customs from Venice into the urban everyday life of the eastern Adriatic. The research examines how Venetian influences shaped the social and cultural identity of the Schiavoni. Its innovative aspect lies in the use of written archival sources, in contrast to earlier studies that have largely relied on material culture. The project will also address the lack of comparative research on Venetian urban everyday life in relation to that of eastern Adriatic cities. The methodology includes both quantitative and qualitative analysis of notarial records from the archives of Zadar and Venice, as well as their systematic analysis and interpretation.
